Whispering Mimicry is a search for onomatopoeia in cinematic form, for cinematic reproductions of other, non-human languages that surround us. A quiet attempt to make the languages of ‘others’ audible, to articulate oneself through them. These films are about making contact between companions (as defined by Donna Haraway) – between people, animals, plants, stones, earth, and others. They are films that reflect, reverberate, resonate, wait, expand on – and above all search for common languages beyond the alphabet.
